COURSE PROCEDURE FOR SOCIAL SKILLS LAB

This class is based on the 17 social skills of the BoyÕs Town Model that will be taught and practiced. The course will also stress the following: anger control, positive concepts, self-exploration, occupational outlooks, self-management, life skills, etc.

Basic work requirements:

A variety of books, texts, and strategies will be used in the class. There will be a considerable amount of hands on activities as role-plays in this course. As a part of the Life Skills unit, the class will learn basic sewing and food preparation skills.

Students will be graded on:

Daily assignments which includes class participation=80%

Tests=20%

Valdez High School grading scale will be used:

100-90=A

89-80=B

79-70=C

69-60=D

59-0=F
