CLASSROOM POLICIES
HOMEWORK
All
assignments will be turned in on time. On days that assignments are due, they
will be turned in at the beginning of the class period. Any assignments not
handed in on time, or are incomplete, are considered late. The final grade on
late assignments will be reduced by 30%.
All
assignments will be done neatly. If I cannot read an assignment, it will be
returned to the student to be redone and will be considered late. Calls home
may be made for negligent work habits.
MAKE-UP WORK
It
is the responsibility of the student to obtain his/her make-up work before
school, during lunch, or after school within the time allotted by school
policy. Weekly work assignment sheets will be distributed. Handouts will be
saved for the absent student to gather upon return.
EXTRA CREDIT
Additional
special projects for extra credit may be considered on an individual basis only
after all daily work and any make-up tests have been completed. It is the
studentÍs responsibility to ask for any extra work.
GENERAL CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR
Follow
directions the first time they are given.
Keep
hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
Get
permission to leave your seat.
Show
respect for each other as well as yourself. Treat others as you would like to
be treated.
Come
into the class and get ready to work. DonÍt wait until the teacher is ready
before you start getting ready.
Use
appropriate language at all times. Just because you heard it on TV doesnÍt mean
itÍs o.k.!
There
will be rewards for consistent, appropriate behavior just as there will be
punishments for inappropriate behavior.
CONSEQUENCES
1st
Offense: Verbal Warning
2nd
Offense: 15 minute detention
3rd
Offense: Student is sent to the office
If
an offense is severe enough, the student will be immediately removed from the
classroom and sent to the office.
Whenever
a student is sent out of the room for disciplinary reasons, that student will
not be allowed to reenter the classroom until one of the following has
occurred:
1)
Student/teacher conference on the behavior.
2)
Student/teacher/parent/principal conference on behavior and how this problem
can be eliminated.
BEHAVIOR FOR SUBSTITUTES
I
expect my students to behave better for a substitute than they do when
IÍm in the classroom. If there are any problems noted by the sub, the
student(s) will automatically have a 48 minute detention on the day the teacher
returns. A student/teacher conference will also be necessary.
