Oral Current Event Report / Rubric

The purpose of a current event article is to connect classroom study to current happenings.

Relevance	Article chosen is irrelevant to class material.		Article relevance is weak.	.	Article is carefully chosen for its relevance to class material.
Delivery	Current event is not given orally.	Delivery voice is inadequate to be understood. Material is read without understanding.	Delivery voice is hard to understand and material is read with some understanding.	Is delivered orally in an understandable voice.	Is delivered orally to the class with a conversational voice that is easily under- stood.
Attitude	Attitude detracts.		Attitude does not detract from delivery..		Is delivered with an attitude of contribution.
Language/vocab		Vocabulary is struggled with often during delivery	Some vocabulary struggles.	Most vocabulary is looked up and is pronounced correctly.	All vocabulary is looked up ahead of time for meaning and pronunciation.
Organization	Information is not organized, or it is vague,illogical and/or incomplete.	Information is poorly organized affecting the flow, or is somewhat illogical and not complete.
