Students will be graded on the following work:
1. In-class assignments (Science journal)
2. Homework
3. Lab work/Projects
4. Tests/Quizzes
5. Semester test
° Missing
assignments really hurt your grade, so make sure the work gets completed and
turned in on time. You will
receive a weekly Assignment sheet to help you remember what work was assigned
in class. (usually on Mondays)
Grades will be assigned as follows:
A
= 90-100%
B
= 80-89% In-class/Homework
= 25%
C
= 70-79% Projects/Lab
work = 25%
D
= 60-69% Tests
and quizzes = 50%
F
= 0-59% Semester
Exam = 10% of Semester grade
** I would highly recommend that students keep track of their scores on
a Science Grade Sheet. This should
be kept in your Science Binder.
0-day Late policy: I will
not accept late work.
**Periodically, I will reward students for having an assignment done on
time by giving them a homework pass to be used in place of any missing or
future assignments (only).
Make-up Work:
1.
Students will be responsible for obtaining missing work following an
excused absence. One day for each day absent will be allowed to make up missed
work.
2. For
pre-arranged absences, work must be obtained and completed prior to the
absence. (With some exceptions for labs and projects)
Extra Credit: An optional extra credit assignment
will be offered to students each week and will be due on the last day of that
week. No late extra credit
assignments will be accepted.
