COURSE PROCEDURES & PRACTICES

This form is to be posted in the room where the course is taught.  A copy is to be filed with the principalÍs office.

 

1.      Specifically indicate how students will be graded.

 

         1.Students will earn points on a daily basis in any of the following areas:

                       Positive Participation/ Vocal production ( in-class, concerts/ rehearsals and Festival)  = 90%

                        Assignments = 5%

                         Appropriate Concert Attire/Manners= 5%

 

            2.   20 points a week will be available for students to earn. Any student                                              receiving 14 or more a week will be considered passing. A students receiving less than 14                             pts. per week will be considered failing

2.      Specifically indicate how make-up work will be executed.

 

         1.Journaling for the make up work is all that is excepted.  10 songs /day. Students will list the song, title and why they liked or disliked the tune.  Listen to a variety of songs.  Tell about               our interests in music as you journal.  Give me more than...I LIKED THE BEAT Make up                      TIME is possible but only if the absence was excused.

         Grading Scale

                        100- 90%  = A

                        89- 80%   = B

                        79- 70%  = C

                        69- 60 %  = D                                     59 and below = F

 

3.      Specifically indicate how extra credit work will be considered

 

         1.Extra Credit will only be given out to those students who inquire about it. Assignments                            may vary from, written reports to oral presentation, listening to a variety of songs and                                  answering questions.  

 

4.      Specifically indicate the basic work requirements (i.e. - workbook, outside               reading, book reports, papers, etc.).
