High MARS Time Rationale:
The National Middle School Association recognizes an advisory strand as
a key component to a quality middle grades school. Research indicates
this component reduces violence, drug abuse, as well as drop-out rates
while increasing academic performance.
Goal: Increase support of students on an individual basis
Objectives:Provide each student with a caring adult contact
at the school
Scope and Sequence:
Monday:Day Planner,
housekeeping, individual consult
Tuesday: Life Skills
Wednesday: SSR ( Silent Sustained Reading)
Thursday: Life Skills
Friday: Intramural's
