Assertive Discipline for

2nd Grade

These will be the rules throughout the school year for our class. They have been discussed with your child.

 

 

Rules 1.Follow directions the first time they are given.
  2.Keep your hands, feet, and object to yourself.
  3. Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
  4.Walk in the classroom and school building.
 

5. Golden Rule- Treat others the way you want to be treated.

 
Consequences 1. Name on board= warning
  2. Name + check mark = 5 minutes of recess or after school
  3. Name + 2 checkmarks = 10 minutes after school
  4. Name + 3 checkmarks = 15 minutes after school phone and call home
 

5. Name + 4 checkmarks = 15 minutes, phone call, visit principal

 
Rewards When the students are following the rules they will earn jelly beans in a jar. When the jar is full the students can earn treats, extra recess time, free computer time, movies or a chance to eat in the classroom.
   
 

 
 

 

 

Themes and Units for 06-07 School Year

FALL-self, safety, body, senses, drug education, animal groups and habitats focusing on bears, moose, caribou, Alaska native groups

WINTER- Christmas around the world, needs-wants, space/solar system, famous Americans, dental health

SPRING- disabilities, Junior Achievement, dinosaurs, volcanoes, earthquakes, Flat Stanley unit, sea week
